How do I get a frozen codfish to flake like a fresh cod does when cooked? When codfish is frozen it losses its fat, which when cooked fresk helps to give that soft and juicy texture. A simple trick to get frozen cod to replicate that is to cook it slowly in water to which has been added some milk. The effect of the slow cooking and the milk allows the slices of cod to flake naturally maintaining its soft consistency.
